Join us for a swim this winter!

Klamath Falls has a local year-round outdoor pool available to all, whether local or just traveling through. The Ella Redkey Pool, operated by the City of Klamath Falls, is a geothermally heated pool allowing the water to stay a toasty 86 degrees, even on chill winter mornings. Many patrons throughout the year rave about the joys of seeing the sun rise in the East while swimming and the beautiful views of the sun setting in the West, lighting up the water in an orange glow. In 2021, The Ella Redkey Pool was voted #1 Fitness Center for The Best of The Basin!

The Ella Redkey Pool is 25 yards with 11 lap lanes available for various activities. Along with lap swimming, the Pool also features water aerobics classes in the deep and shallow ends, swimming time for families, advanced lap swimming for users who enjoy extra instruction, and much more!

One of our annual events is our Santa Freeze swim, sponsored by the Friends of Ella Redkey Pool. Each December during the Snowflake Festival season, the Ella Redkey Pool hosts a Santa Freeze swim. Participants get to come and see Santa, swim, and enjoy light refreshments for a low cost! Entrance requirement is either a toy for the Toys for Tots program, or a non-perishable food item that will later be taken to the local food drive. Santa Freeze is set for Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 1pm – 3pm.

Ella Redkey Pool hosts 4 teams in the winter months, 1 club team, Klamath Basin Aquatics. 3 High School Teams, Klamath Union Swim Team, Henley Swim Team and Mazama Swim Team. In December, Klamath Union has their annual KU Relay Home Meet. In January, Henley Swim Team has their annual Henley Freeze meet. Local and surrounding cities come to Klamath Falls to attend multiple Annual winter meets here in the Basin.

The Everyone Swims program is brought through the partnership of Sky Lakes Medical Center and the City of Klamath Falls. Participants receive individualized instruction, develop skills, build confidence, and learn life-saving skills, all while having fun with their peers in the water.
