Nutrition Oregon Campaign:
BABY Curriculum
Our goal with the Klamath County Hub for the Nutrition Oregon Campaign is to lower the rate of low birth weight babies in Klamath County. We aim to do this by educating pregnant people through our BABY Curriculum. This Curriculum was designed for care workers to have conversations with their patients, or clients about how choices during pregnancy can impact the health of your child. Each lecture will discuss the different trimesters of pregnancy with helpful tips, recipes, talking points and more.
Pre-Module
The pre module is an overview of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease. This module will teach out about the science of how chronic stress and nutrition can impact your child and their future children.

Module 1 will go over preparing your body for pregnancy and an overview of the first trimester. We will focus on development of the brain and spine and the important foods to eat to support that development. Module 2
Module 2 focuses on the second trimester and the bones and organ development and how to build a better plate to support that development. We also go over weight gain guidelines and how to stock your kitchen with budget friendly foods. This module also has recipes and helpful handouts!

We will also discuss foods that support and build a healthy microbiome for the pregnant person. This module also includes a helpful meal planning worksheet that patients and clients can use to stock their pantry and plan out meals that are healthy.
